I started doing this nearly 15 years ago and love it! I call the person a Star Student and they do a lot!
In addition, substitutes really like knowing that there’s a single student to help rather than trying to refer to each job.

I really like this idea because it does take a lot of time and energy to keep the big helper charts going! It may not be a winner for all teachers as there is great diversity in classrooms but it may help many just to streamline their classroom procedures.
