I am obsessed with 3M Command Hooks! I use them ALL over my house and in my classroom! You can hang pictures, hooks, things in the shower and so much more! And the best part? They are damage free!

Word Wall on the Go!
One of the best things I’ve added to my classroom is a portable Word Wall on the Go! Students can simply walk up to the word wall {which is hanging just below our whiteboard tray} and pick the word they need a word from.
If they can’t find the word they need, I’ll help them locate it.
{NOTE: the file is editable so you can add your own set of words or use the included Fry or Dolch lists!}
I hung the words using the mini Command Hooks and they’ve held up for years!
Word Work Activities
On the side of my Writer’s Workshop shelf, I have a set of colorful Medium-Sized Command Hooks that hold a variety of Word Work activities. I tend to swap out these activities depending on what skill we’re trying to master!
Currently on rotation on our hooks are short vowel clip cards and short vowel wipe-on-wipe-off cards {both from Short Vowel Phonics} and Sight Word Mystery . The kids LOVE these short vowel activities and I love that they are easy to access and store!
Teacher Keys!
How many times have you said to your class, “Has anyone seen my keys?!”
It only took me 15+ years to think, “Hey, I should put a hook near my desk so I always know where to find those keys!”
This hook is definitely bigger than I need for the keys, but it gets the job done!
Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop Posters
I have a love/hate relationship with these Reading & Writer’s Workshop posters. While I love that they are a great visual for students to use during workshop time, I hate that they take up SO much room in the classroom!
After struggling to find a solution the past few years, I finally stopped wrangling the posters behind a file cabinet and came up with the genius idea to simply punch a hole, add a binder ring, and hang ’em from a trusty Command Hook!
Problem solved! As we begin a new bend, I just flip the poster to the next skill and we’re all set!
Math in a Minute
Each morning, we begin our math block with a quick warm-up using Math in a Minute. These quick activities are a great spiral review for kiddos to recall previous skills taught.

I used to shove these rings in a drawer…but then I never remembered to pull out the rings to use each morning! Now, they’re hanging right on our whiteboard with a Command Hook and if I forget, you better believe that a kiddo will let me know!
