A Year of Good News by Martin Smatan
This delightful book is a perfect reminder of the good things happening all around us. A Year of Good News shares heartwarming stories, showing how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

I stumbled on this book while waiting in the school office at my son’s school. Love that this book is something kids can pick up while they hang out in the office waiting to be picked up or grabbing an ice pack!
Most People by Michael Leannah
Most People by Michael Leannah is a heartwarming picture book that highlights the kindness and goodness in the world. It reassures children that most people are caring and helpful. The book encourages kids to focus on acts of kindness and find joy in human connection. It’s a perfect read for teaching empathy, kindness, and optimism to young readers.

There’s also a follow up book, Most Days that challenges kids to live in the here and now.
Good People Everywhere
Good People Everywhere by Lynea Gillen is a beautifully illustrated book that celebrates the kindness and goodness found in everyday life. It encourages children to recognize and appreciate the small, thoughtful actions of people around them. Through its simple, positive message, the book fosters empathy and gratitude, showing young readers how good deeds can make the world a better place. A perfect read to inspire kindness and positivity!

Tiny Love Stories
I found this book at The Strand on a recent trip to NYC and immediately added it to my basket as a present for my mom! It’s a collection of brief, heartfelt stories that capture the essence of love in all its forms. Each story, no longer than 100 words, offers a glimpse into the joys, challenges, and beauty of human connections. A lot of the stories are meant for adults so definitely preview before you share with students {nothing bad at all – just above their heads!}

Life’s Journeys According to Mister Rogers
I’m definitely aging myself but Mr. Rogers was a magical part of my childhood! Life’s Journeys According to Mister Rogers is a collection of wise and heartfelt insights from him. It offers gentle reminders about life’s challenges, the importance of kindness, and staying true to oneself. It would be a lovely book to share snippets with your students!

Sticky Notes
As a teacher, you’ll love this book! A teacher communicated with a non-verbal student only by sticky notes. Years later that student came back and shared how impactful those notes were. Realizing how important they were, he set out to keep track of meaningful interactions he had with students over the years.

Upworthy Good People
JB gifted me this book for Christmas and I am treasuring the stories included. I’ve followed along with their Instagram account for years. You can’t help but get warm & fuzzy inside when you read the stories.
