Quick & Easy Parent Communication

I am a HUGE proponent of communication with parents!  I believe the more you tell 'em, the fewer questions they'll have for you…leaving you to do what you're best at – teach their little loves!

I personally use a blog to share information with my parents.  All info they need is in one place – newsletters, calendars, links to photo site, etc. I love that I can write up a newsletter and schedule it ahead of time so that I won't forget to email it on Monday! At Back to School night, I walk everyone how to sign up for the blog via email.  It works perfect!

However, not everyone lives right outside Silicon Valley where everyone is super techy! In fact, not everyone who does work here uses technology! One of my coworkers has a very low-tech solution – good ol' fashioned paper!

She attaches a monthly template to her clipboard and cruises around the classroom.  She jots some notes down as she thinks of things to share and sends it home.  Great idea, right?

I almost fell off my chair when she showed me what she writes on.  It was completely unacceptable.  Microsoft Word clipart and Comic Sans.  Puke! So, I had to make her some templates!

Check out Extra! Extra! Read All About It! This pack is filled with 12 months of editable templates.  I've included black and white {if you plan to print out and send home} or colored versions {in case you want to email your newsletter home!}

The text is editable {except the “Classroom News” heading!}  Simply click the box and change the wording to fit your needs!

  1. I love this because, although I always have good intentions and begin the year with a newletter, that's usually as far as it goes! I think with your gift, I might actually do one each of our trimesters–fall, winter, and spring!

  2. Hi Molly, Thanks for making the download editable… love the editable ones! Also, thanks for the linky! I linked a book review with a freebie, and it's linked elsewhere… I'm sure people will find good stuff here, there and everywhere now 🙂 I'm hosting my first link-up on Friday– gotta start somewhere. So excited! Check it out.
