If you’ve been teaching through the crazy time that this school year has been, chances are good that you’ve heard of Boom Cards! These are one of my favorite things to use in my classroom these days, and today I want to share all about why I love them!
What are Boom Cards?
Boom Cards are digital, interactive, and self-checking task cards. You can create card decks to cover a variety of skills, and the digital tools built into the Boom Learning platform makes it so easy to use them!
How do Boom Cards make teaching easier?
These digital cards are great for teachers for so many reasons. First, they are no prep. Because they are paperless, you don’t have to worry about printing or prepping a single thing. Simply assign the deck you want students to complete, and let the site do the rest!
Second, all of my decks have self-checking tools built into them. Your students will know if they are getting the correct answer as they go along. This prevents you from having to click through dozens of submitted assignments and grade them yourself. No more grading? Yes, please!
Do students like Boom Cards?
Students love them! The engaging graphics, animation, and sound effects included in the decks makes it so easy for students to use. My students love using them, and we all know that when students are engaged with content, they dig a little deeper and end up learning more!
