School Reminders Using a Thermal Printer

I’ve shared my love of my favorite thermal printer here on the blog and over on Instagram. And I’ve learned that lots of you are falling in LOVE with using a thermal printer, too! Thermal Printers are an easy and affordable way to generate classroom labels – whether it’s for student names or labeling school supplies. But, now I’m adding another way for you to use this magical machine – school reminders!

Why Use a Thermal Printer in the Classroom?

I shared in the last post that using this incredible thermal printer makes it SO easy to quickly print single or sets of labels. This mighty little printer kicks out labels in seconds.

Take a peek at how fast this thermal printer kicked out a set of class reminder labels!

The amazing thing about thermal printers is that they don’t require ink, toner, or ribbons. So once you purchase this cute little printer, you never need to buy printer ink again! Mind-blowing, right?

Keep Families Informed

I’ve already shown you how easy it is to make name labels. But there is SO much more you can make!

I realized that I often want to send home a reminder to parents about something happening tomorrow. Let’s be honest, first graders are not known for their memories, right? {Full disclosure – I have to write everything down to remember, too!}

I’ll be honest – I don’t want to email parents every single day with a new reminder. So, I created a whole set of labels that is filled with tons of reminders {and more!} to make life easier for you and your families informed this year. You can simply print the reminder label you need with your thermal printer and send your student off with the sticker. You can either stick the label right onto a students’ shirt or if your school uses planners, pop that sticker into his/her planner!

Take a peek at a few options I’ve included with this pack of 115+ reminders! I’ve broken the reminders into folders in the product to make it easy to locate.

Reminder Labels

There are about a million things we need to remind our students and families about {okay, this is a slight exaggeration but you know we have so much to share!}

I’ve included all sorts of reminders – from returning your book bag and library book to checking out Class DoJo/Google Classroom to PTA meeting reminders.

Basically, if your families need a nudge about something…I’ve included it with these reminders!

A laptop with an upside-down screen display is shown next to a thermal printer on a beige table. A text logo reading "Lucky Learning" is in the lower right corner.

Creating these reminder labels seriously took just seconds to print. These reminder labels were designed to be printed onto 2.25 x1.25 labels {but you can certainly use the same 2×1 labels you’re using for the Thermal Subject & Name labels!}

After School Events

In this folder, you’ll find 20+ reminders for activities that happen outside of school hours – such as concerts, festivals, literacy night, and awards night! These are perfect to stick on a student’s shirt or put inside of student planners.

A thermal printer produces blue stickers that read "Literacy Night is Tomorrow!" on a striped surface. The bottom right corner features the text “Lucky learning” with a paw print icon, perfect for school reminders.

Celebrations & Spirit Days

We’ve all had to send out countless reminders for Crazy Hair Day or a reminder that we’ve got a party coming up. Make it easy with these printable reminders.

Positive Notes

We know how much our families appreciate when we tell them about a great day…but we don’t always have time to sit down and write a long note!

Printing some of these positive note reminders will save you time and make your students and families feel like a million bucks!

Reminders

I’ve included over 30 reminder label choices in this reminders folder so you can pick and choose what works best for your classroom. And if something is missing, I’ve included a request form so you can let me know what I can add.

Some of the reminders included: IEP Tomorrow, Please Check Backpack, PTA Meeting, Book Reports Due, Please Return Your Book Bag and so many more!

Requests for Parents

How many times have we wanted to send a note home to ask for extra classroom supplies or remind a child to bring in headphones? Thermal Reminder Labels for the win to make this easy!

School Events

Remind your families about upcoming Picture Day, parent-teacher conferences, Back to School Night, Open House, and no school days with a sticker!

Transportation

One of the trickiest parts of Back to School time is keeping tracking of just where everyone is going after school and how they are getting there! Keep it simple with reminder stickers. All types of transport is included – from buses to wheels and after care!

Create Your Own Reminder Labels

You can also use the thermal printer to create your own reminder labels!

I’ve included a Canva template for reminder labels. {P.S. Did you know that you get a FREE educator account on Canva using your school email address?}

It’s easy to print a set of labels {once you save as a PDF or picture file}

You can print a whole class set of reminders at once or just a reminder label for a specific need. This is perfect for when you need to send a reminder to a few kids about missing library books or IEP reminders. No need to make a full class set – just print out a label or two!

What is the Best Thermal Printer for Teachers?

I have a couple of different printers so here are my recommendations:
• Rollo printer {awesome but priciest option!}
ASprink Bluetooth Thermal Label Printer – SO affordable {but often sold out on Amazon!}
Phomemo Thermal Label Printer {basically the exact same printer as above but a different brand!}
Polono Shipping Printer

The final three options all have apps and you can print using Bluetooth on your phone! The apps allow you to create cute stickers from your phone. Play around & have fun!

PRO TIP: buy a thermal label holder. It’s inexpensive and ensures your labels don’t get tangled up!
